Linkedin Basic Accounts vs. Paid...Which one is best for you?

I have been asked over and over again by clients and colleagues if they should upgrade their Linkedin accounts to one of the paid options.   The answer is always the same - it depends on how you plan to use the service beyond the basic account functionality.

The basic (free) account is very robust however the paid accounts offer more features including additional monthly messaging, the ability to search hundreds of profiles per search and the new option to organize profiles.

Here's a summary of the three plans - business, business plus and pro.

With each of these upgrades you also get detailed information on who has viewed your profile, you can send messages without introductions and keep track of key contacts.

The new organize profiles feature can be very helpful.  Here's a video on this new feature.

As you can see, the upgrade options add some additional features which may be a better fit for power users and businesses.   Determine how you plan to use Linkedin and see if the added features meet your needs.

I hope this outline helps detail the differences in the Linkedin account options.
